Marti P. Murray

Marti P. Murray is a senior consultant in the Finance Practice with over 40 years of experience in finance and investment management.
She serves as a consulting and testifying expert in numerous high stakes matters, including in projects that relate to business and securities valuation, bankruptcy and restructuring, solvency and fraudulent conveyance, damages and lost profits, asset tracing, fraud (including Ponzi and Ponzi-like schemes), credit investing and trading, and industry custom and practice for investment advisers and fund managers, including hedge funds, private equity, direct lending, and venture capital.
Ms. Murray has served on Boards of Directors, has acted as a Court-appointed Monitor and Receiver for an investment manager accused of fraud, has served as a financial advisor in bankruptcies, and has been appointed to oversee the wind down of various investment management firms and investment vehicles.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Murray was the Founder, President, and Portfolio Manager of Murray Capital Management, Inc., an SEC-registered distressed debt hedge fund firm, the business of which was ultimately acquired by Babson Capital.
Ms. Murray also served as an adjunct professor at the NYU Stern School of Business, teaching bankruptcy, distressed debt investing, and equity analysis/valuation courses. She holds the Certified Valuation Analyst credential and is a Certified Fraud Examiner, with expertise in fraud prevention, detection, and deterrence.
