James Wilcox
James Wilcox is the James J. and Marianne B. Lowrey Professor of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
In addition, he is a research fellow with the Filene Research Institute and a fellow of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. Professor Wilcox has published articles in dozens of leading industry journals; he is also a former member of Averant, Inc.’s board of directors and a former chief economist with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. A financial economics expert, Professor Wilcox has conducted research on credit union conversions, mutual thrift conversions, economies of scale and costs in credit unions, bank mergers, deposit insurance reform, house prices and the housing market, the unbanked, the banking safety net, competition in financial regulation, small business lending, and the effects of GSEs on the economy.
