Chris Rowley is a vice president in the Risk, Investigations & Analytics Practice, with over 20 years in international consulting.
Chris has extensive experience in helping clients with strategy, including in international expansion, M&A, and new service lines. He has managed over 500 complex investigations, specializing in helping clients to identify and mitigate regulatory and reputational risks in frontier markets. Much of Chris’ work has focused on anti-corruption – FCPA and Bribery Act primarily – and anti-money laundering. In that context, he has particular expertise in Latin America, having lived and worked in the region, while also having conducted complex assignments in Russia and the Former Soviet Union, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. His clients span energy, financial services, defense, and developing financial institutions, in addition to working for the government in a number of matters.
Before joining CRA, Chris Rowley was Chief Executive Officer of an independent global risk consultancy, providing intelligence, investigations, and security services. Between 2010 and 2020 he led the expansion of the business in the US market, opening offices in Washington DC and New York before returning to London to become group CEO. Earlier in his career, Chris had worked in the Lloyd’s of London political risk insurance market.
Recognized for his expertise, Chris has been ranked in Category 1 by Chambers & Partners in both 2023 and 2024 for investigative due diligence. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Exeter.
