In this edition of CRA’s Securities Litigation Flash, we cover Section 10 (b) and Section 11 filings and settlements from Q3 2024.
Filing trends
- Section 10(b) and Section 11 filings totaled 164 during the first three quarters of 2024, 9% more than in the same period in 2023 and 17% more than in the same period in 2022.
- There were 60 filings during Q3 2024, 28% more than in Q3 2023 and 36% more than in Q3 2022.
- Only 16 filings had Section 11 claims in the first three quarters of 2024, less than in the same period of 2023 (19 filings) and considerably less than in the same period of 2022 (46 filings). This decrease in Section 11 filings follows the decline in the IPO market, which started in 2022.
