CRA Vice President and Global Practice Leader for Antitrust and Competition Economics Margaret Sanderson provided comments in response to the Canadian Competition Bureau’s review of the Merger Enforcement Guidelines (MEGs).
Ms. Sanderson addressed questions from the Bureau’s Consultation Paper related to: (i) market definition and use of the hypothetical monopolist test; (ii) assessing unilateral effects in differentiated markets and use of the structural presumptions; and (iii) how the MEGs might include greater discussion of the economics literature on bidding and bargaining markets.
