In this article titled “From Commissions to Cooperation: The Real Estate Marketplace After the NAR Settlement,” authors Juan Rojas and Lena Nagy analyze the possible economic effects of a settlement reached between the National Association of Realtors and a group of home sellers.
They suggest that while the settlement is unlikely to cause significant changes to commissions and housing prices in the short term, it could disrupt the established role of Multiple Listing Services as the primary venue for residential real estate transactions in the long run.
