In an ongoing case, Lori Lightfoot, Senior Consultant to CRA’s Forensic Services Practice, has been retained by Trustees of the Village of Dolton (Illinois) to investigate allegations of improper spending by Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard. So far, the investigation has revealed that the village’s general fund — which had a multi-million dollar surplus earlier this decade — now has a multi-million dollar deficit.
Lightfoot and her CRA Forensic Services team have begun reviewing various credit card purchases, including purchases from Amazon, Wayfair, and from airlines and travel providers. Multiple village employees have already been laid off.
