On 31 January 2025, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced the unconditional clearance of Outbrain’s acquisition of Teads. This follows clearances in other jurisdictions including Germany, France, Israel and Turkey. The Parties are both display digital advertising intermediaries. The French Competition Authority noted that the “transaction was likely to promote the emergence of an independent player capable of competing with the major digital players.”
A CRA team including Oliver Latham, Matteo Foschi, Mauricio Chikitani, Federico Navarra, Nathan D’Cunha, and Anish Goel assisted Outbrain and Teads in this deal.
