In 2020, CRA team members reached out to a patient advocacy group to offer pro bono support for their work on health disparities and the impact of the social determinants of health on patient outcomes.
Combining pro bono efforts with funded engagements from healthcare companies, CRA teams have contributed to the development of a publication on these critical issues and provided guidance on building effective resources for communities affected by these challenges. Key components of this research support by the CRA team have included developing and moderating focus groups and advisory boards, conducting secondary literature reviews, fielding patient surveys, leading internal interviews, and synthesizing findings across multiple stages of research. Currently, CRA is focused on working with the patient advocacy group to compile a list of potential solutions to address the social determinants of health, facilitating community discussions and prioritization.
