James J. Donohue is an accounting and financial expert with more than 30 years of experience in damages, valuation, and forensic accounting. He has provided expert damages and valuation testimony in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts, and in various domestic and international arbitration venues including the ICC, AAA, JAMS, and ICDR.
Mr. Donohue has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, valuation, and transactions. Mr. Donohue has assisted clients with assessing damages in patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret, and copyright litigations. He has assisted clients with various intellectual property strategy and licensing engagements, including valuation and strategic consulting for tax, financial reporting, transactions, and bankruptcy proceedings. His work has included managing licensing and other intellectual property monetization engagements, including private auction patent portfolio sales. Mr. Donohue has been repeatedly selected to the IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals.
Mr. Donohue’s valuation experience has involved a wide variety of industries, ownership interests, and asset classes. Mr. Donohue has performed numerous valuation engagements involving intangible assets and businesses for transaction, litigation, tax, bankruptcy, and financial reporting matters.
Mr. Donohue’s forensic experience has included various accounting and financial investigations. His role in these engagements has included performing investigations, evaluating earnout and purchase price disputes under U.S. GAAP, and providing expert testimony.
Mr. Donohue is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Villanova University. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV).
