Eyal Dvir

Principal

Eyal Dvir is a principal in the Competition & Antitrust Economics Practice with experience encompassing a variety of industries, including banking & finance, energy, metals, chemicals, medical devices, consumer products, health insurance, and pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Dvir is an experienced project manager who has successfully supported testifying experts, conducted economic and econometric analyses, managed project teams, and maintained client relationships in the context of complex litigation and merger-related consulting work. He has also assisted clients in shaping their responses to government policy proposals in sectors including transportation and accommodations, as well as in regulation of emissions.

 

Dr. Dvir has been the project manager or a senior team member in matters involving attempted monopolization, conspiracy, price fixing, tying and other antitrust counterclaims, market manipulation, conspiracy to defraud, breach of contract, unfair and deceptive business practices, tortious interference, and price gouging. He has extensive experience in preparing merits and damages reports, as well as class action matters (in the US and Canada), government investigations, and post-merger litigation. Dr. Dvir has supported CRA experts in preparing testimony for US District Courts, trial courts in several states, the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the High Court of Justice of England & Wales (King’s Bench Division). He has supported CRA experts in merger investigations conducted by the US Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and the European Commission. 

Dr. Dvir holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University, where he specialized in international finance, international trade, and energy economics. Prior to joining CRA, he was an assistant professor of economics at Boston College, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in international finance and international trade. Dr. Dvir’s research topics include: banking and debt crises, consumer goods pricing in a global environment (with applications to passenger cars), oil price dynamics, and exchange rate pass-through. He has published his research in Journal of International Economics and Journal of International Money and Finance, among others. His published research examines industry pricing practices in a global environment, and he has studied the petroleum, banking, retail, and motor vehicle industries. He has presented at conferences, universities and policy institutions in the US, Canada, and Europe.
